Ingredients:

Main Ingredients:

  • Chicken (Boneless/With Bone) – 500 gms
  • Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato – 2 (finely chopped or pureed)
  • Capsicum – 1 (chopped)
  • Green Chillies – 2 (lengthwise chopped)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1.5 tbsp
  • Curd – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves – for garnishing

Spices:

  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp (or as per taste)
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Kadhai masala (homemade or market) – 1.5 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste

Method of Preparation (Step-by-Step Instructions)

Step 1: Prepare the masala

  • Grind 1 tomato, 1 onion, and some green coriander in a mixer.
  • If you want, you can prepare kadhai masala separately (roasted coriander + crushed whole red chillies).

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds, then add onion and ginger-garlic paste and fry till golden brown.

  • Mix the chicken well and fry for 5–6 minutes.
  • Now add curd and kadhai masala.
  • Cook on low flame for 15–20 minutes till the chicken becomes soft.
  • Add some water in between so that the gravy becomes light.

Step 4: Capsicum and finishing

  • Finally add capsicum and green chillies.
  • Cover and cook for 5 minutes so that the chillies become soft but remain crispy.
  • Add garam masala and garnish with green coriander.
